Meet Pygmalion and Galatea

With their names inspired by greek mythology, Pygmalion and Galatea were our Εurobot 2022 contenders and one of our most special projects. They helped us achieve the 20th position, in our first contest participation since the pandemic.

Pygmalion and Galatea will be our guide for Eurobot 2023, since an updated version of them is already developed.

About Us

Hyperion Robotics is a volunteering and interdisciplinary student team of the University of Western Macedonia. It was founded by undergraduate students in 2014 and currently consists of 8 members and a mentor.

What We Do

Our team designs and develops autonomous robots that can achieve different tasks. We mainly participate in international competitions, with our goal for next year being the Eurobot 2023. Besides our competitive side, we also contribute to special research projects.

Where We Are

The team’s headquarters are located in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia, at the new campus of ZEP, Kozani.

The Next Step

Our next goal is the participation in Eurobot 2023, the European contest taking place in La Roche-sur-Yon of France.

Next year’s theme is called The Cherry on the Cake. More information and the official rules are already available!

Our Actions

Our mission

One of the team’s main goals is to showcase its projects internationally and excel in European and worldwide robotics competitions.
Special research projects are also discussed and developed in our lab, as a part of our university’s robotics research group.
Our ultimate goal is to promote robotics in Greece and abroad, by planning events for schools and universities, taking part in exhibitions and encouraging others to get involved.
